Edward Carroll Obituary

Edward Michael Carroll of Bluffton, age 78, passed away on August 8, 2020, at Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hardeeville, SC.

Mr. Carroll was born in the Bronx, New York, on May 19, 1942, to the late Edward Carroll and Mary Burns Carroll.

Mr. Carroll was a US Army veteran, having served his country during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans organization; the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Bernardin Council in Bluffton; and a Past Grand Knight of the Father Widmer Council in Stafford, VA. Mr. Carroll was a parishioner at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Bluffton.

Mr. Carroll retired from Verizon in 2002, having been employed as a project manager for 37 years. He was also a consummate volunteer and was involved in numerous community-based projects over the years.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bridget M. Carroll; his sons, Scott E. Carroll (Amy) and Timothy B. Carroll; his grandchildren Norah Beth Carroll and Thomas Edward Carroll. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Carroll was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Carroll, and his sisters, Rose Mary Sherry and Helen Kozloff.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Bluffton, with interment at Resurrection Garden to follow.
