Edward H. Stoops

Edward H. Stoops, 87 of Sun City Hilton Head, Bluffton, South Carolina went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 13, 2020. Ed was born in Hockessin, Delaware on September 7, 1933 to Robert and Evelyn Stoops. He was a 1951 graduate of the Kennett Square High School in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. He went on to become a proud Penn State University alumnus graduating in 1957 after receiving his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Ed began his career with the Federal Systems Division (FSD) in Owego, New York.  In 1957, during his career with IBM as a digital logic designer, he worked at various locations as a senior engineer/manager. He retired while working at Rockville, Maryland. Upon retirement, Ed and his wife Wanda moved from Oakton, Virginia to Sun City Hilton Head, Bluffton, South Carolina in 2001. Over the years Ed enjoyed fishing, table tennis, photography, and taking trips to the mountains.

In addition to his wife Wanda of 59 years, he is survived by a son, Craig Stoops (Lena) of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Deborah Bartlett of Bristow, Virginia; a granddaughter Elizabeth Kirsche (Kevin) of Aldie, Virginia; and a sister, Kay Leto (Robert) of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.  In addition he has several nieces & nephews.  He was predeceased in death by his father, Robert Stoops and mother, Evelyn Stoops; and a brother, John Stoops.

Ed was a Christian and honored to be a deacon of the Okatee Baptist Church.
