Elaine Kelley McManus

Elaine Kelley McManus, age 88, of Ridgeland, SC and formerly of Lake Hartwell, GA died the 1st day of January 2020 at her home.

Mrs. McManus was born on April 17, 1931 in Savannah, GA, the daughter of the late George and Elethia Kelley. She was a 1949 graduate of Commercial High School in Savannah. She married Mr. Charles R. McManus and during his Army career was stationed at Fort Bragg, Germany, Panama, and ultimately Savannah. Upon returning home she worked with General Finance on Broughton Street while her husband was completing his formal education. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and a member of Hardeeville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, boating, going to the beach, cooking, reading, shopping and spending time with her family.

Mrs. McManus was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. McManus and daughter, Sherry McManus. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Scott (Glenn) of Ridgeland; sons, Charles L. McManus (Heidi) of Hardeeville and Joseph R. McManus (Lynn) of Bluffton; brother, George R. Kelley; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Hardeeville United Methodist Church, PO Box 1110, Hardeeville, SC 29927. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
