Emmett Carl Decker Jr (85) of Beaufort, SC, passed away on October 7, 2023. Emmett was born to Emmett and Cora Decker on August 2, 1938 in Lafayette, Indiana. He served in the Marine and Army branch as a military police officer and contributed to two Vietnam War tours. After honorable discharge, Emmett worked as Director of Security for several hotels and Dataw Island Community. Emmett is survived by two sons, Emmett Carl III (Carlos) and Edgar (Eddie) Decker. He is also survived by his daughter-in-laws Marcilene and Mary, as well as 4 grandchildren, Luiz, Narelle, Julien and Jacquelyn. Emmett devoted years as a rescue home for retired military K9s and assisted SCDNR Wildlife Control Operators for community health and safety. He enjoyed large game hunting and fishing, as well as biking with his dachshunds on Hunting Island. Emmett will be honored on November 3, 2023 at the Beaufort National Cemetery in a private service with close family and friends.
