Erik Timothy Howard, 26, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022, at his home in Hilton Head, SC after an intense 3 year journey with cancer.
Although he was only 26 at the time of his death, Erik impacted many people in his lifetime.
Erik was born at Allen Bennett Hospital in Greer, SC on April 4th, 1996 to James Timothy Howard. Erik lived the beginning of his life in Greer and attended Blue Ridge High School, where he was a member of the football team. Once in college, he discovered a love for golf and could often be found hitting hole in ones at Oyster Reef.
Erik met his wife, Anna, in April of 2015 where they quickly became inseparable. They spent their time together playing video games, finding the best food spots and loving one another every day. He loved animals and raised 3 kittens; Luna, Artemis & Athena. He never went a day without making someone smile or laugh.
While living in New York for a couple years, he worked as a party coordinator and drove in and out of NYC. One of his favorite memories was setting up a full zip line in Central Park. Even though he was a born southerner, there was a whole lot of New Yorker in him when he and his wife returned to SC in 2021.
Erik is survived by his wife, Anna; his father, Tim; his older siblings, Amanda and Derek; his paternal grandmother, Margaret; his mother-in-law, Clea and father-in-law, James; his great Aunt Iris and Great Uncle Bob; his online gaming community, his kittens, and his many friends and family that loved and prayed for him daily.
Family and friends are invited to the celebration of Erik's life on Saturday, August 6th. Visitation will take place at 1:00pm, funeral service to follow at 2:00pm at Saul’s Funeral Home (90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton SC)
We would love to turn the funeral home into a garden for Erik. Please send flowers directly to the funeral home Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. All the local florists of Hilton Head and Bluffton are wonderful and highly recommended
