Ethel S. Cleland, age 84, of Ridgeland and widow of Norris Cleland, passed away on February 16, 2020 at Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hardeeville after a brief illness.
Mrs. Cleland was born in Statesboro, GA to the late Joe Sparks and Dovie Collins Sparks. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert Sparks and R. L. Sparks.
Mrs. Cleland is survived by her daughters, Wanda Cooler (Wayne) of Ridgeland and Virginia C. Travis (Terry) of Midway, GA; one brother, Bobby Joe Sparks of Ridgeland; two sisters, Juanita Cleland (Donnie) of Ridgeland and Rubina Duncan and grandchildren, Chelsea Garcia (Jonathan), April Travis and Terry Travis Jr. (Dana) and her beloved dog, Lola, who was her constant companion.
Mrs. Cleland was a homemaker and formerly employed at Wayneline Furniture Industries. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church enjoying her church family, making people laugh and creating memories. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Faith Baptist Church, Ridgeland with burial to follow in Grahamville Cemetery.
