Francis Edward Burnett

Francis Edward Burnett Jr, 93, of Bluffton, SC passed away peacefully Friday, February 5, 2021.

Frank was born in Whitman, MA in 1927, to the late Francis Burnett and Alice Kenneally Burnett. After serving in the US Navy in both WWII & the Korean Wars, Frank enjoyed a 40+ year career in sales management with the Procter & Gamble Co., where his team was frequently recognized for their accomplishments. He lived with his family in MA, WI and for 25+ years in Falmouth, ME, before enjoying his time in retirement on Ossipee Lake, NH and Daytona Beach, FL.

Frank was an avid and accomplished golfer. He played well into his 80s, shooting his age several times and recording 2 holes-in one, and was eclipsed only by his loving wife’s 4 aces. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston sports teams and enjoyed spending his summer nights watching the Red Sox surrounded by his family. He loved Big Band Swing music and enjoyed it to his final days.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 67 years, Lydia. Left to cherish Frank’s memory are his children, Michelle Burnett (Rick Despres), Cheryl Vacchiano (Richard Hutchins), Danielle Gillespie (Dennis), Brian Burnett (Julie) and Suzanne Burnett; grandchildren, Nick Vacchiano, Elliot Vacchiano, Katie Burnett, and Molly Burnett; great-grandchildren, Gus and Joe Vacchiano, his brother William Burnett (Noreen) and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was a loving husband, father and Grampy who delighted in the company of his loved ones. His warm, witty personality endeared him to many and he will be dearly missed.

Due to the climate surrounding COVID-19, the family will be holding a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in his name to the VFW @ vfw.org.
