Francis J. Staab

Francis J. Staab, (88), of Sun City, SC, previous longtime resident of Sugar Creek, OH passed away on November 9, 2023.

Francis, fondly known as Fran, loving father and husband was a dedicated, longtime employee of Graziano Construction and Development in Pittsburgh, PA and proud member of The Brick Layers and Allied Craft Workers Local 9 PA Union. He was a long-standing member of The Elks Lodge 510, in New Philadelphia and before moving an active member at The Sugar Creek Senior Center.

As a member of the Sun City Garden Club, Fran's hobby was growing tomatoes. The bigger the better. He would line his seedling pots affectionately known as "The Girls" in rows and talk to them sweetly, always hoping for the best crop.

Fran is predeceased by his wife Evelyn Staab of Sugar Creek, OH. Survived by his brothers Edward Staab of Oil City, PA and Neice Diana Staab; Dave (Jake) and Georgie Staab; three children, Jill Leit of Bryan's Road, MD, Catherine Spencer and husband Colin of Sun City, and Rhonda Blair of Dover, OH; granddaughters Amanda, Jennifer, Renee and longtime ompanion Mary Ellen Waldron of Sun City, SC.

Fran supported multiple charities over the years including St. Jude's, The Shriner's Hospital for Children and ASPCA. The family has expressed in lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Fran's name.

Fran's family will host a memorial service on a future date.
