Gary William Fisher, 72, passed away on December 30, 2021. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on September 21, 1949, a son of the late James Crawford Fisher and Eleanor McCauslen. He graduated from Wintersville High School in 1967. Gary was a proud Navy Veteran that served his country during the Vietnam War. Before retiring to Bluffton, South Carolina in 2005, he dedicated 35 years to the Weirton Steel Corporation.
Gary was a devoted husband, father and Pap. He enjoyed every moment spent with his family. His most favorite title of all was being Pap to his two grandchildren. Pap would always be found cheering them on and supporting them in any aspect. His pride for his grandchildren shined each day.
“Fish”, as most of his friends called him, loved to socialize and make others laugh. He could always be found riding his golf cart, both on the course and throughout his neighborhood. His passion for golf was lifelong as he was a member of Cadiz Country Club in Cadiz, Ohio and Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, South Carolina. He was an avid Steelers fan and would wear his Black and Gold with pride.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Darlene (Wray); his daughter Brooke (Joseph) Rowe; his grandson, Garrett; his granddaughter, Morgan; and two brothers, Edwin (Marsha) and James.
Gary, lovingly known as Dad, Pap and Fish, will always be remembered for the love he had for his family, his sense of humor and being a friend to everyone.
Private arrangements will be made by the family.
