Harold "Sonny" Eugene Guerry

Harold Eugene “Sonny” Guerry, 89, passed away on August 26th.  He was born and raised in Ridgeland, SC.  He was the son of the late Herbert and Ruby Guerry.  He was married to the late Margery Lynch Guerry for 29 years.  He was married to his second wife the late Nancy Smith Guerry for 29 years also.  They lived in various places throughout South Carolina, including Cheraw, Rock Hill, Great Falls, Greenville, Okatie and Charleston.  Sonny graduated from Ridgeland High School and the University of South Carolina. 

He was in the Air Force for one year and Air National Guard for 35 years holding multiple positions over his military career.  Throughout his civil career, he worked at JP Stevens and West Point Pepperell for 40 years. After retirement he worked as a Safety Consultant. He was a member and involved in the Stephen Ministry Program at Lowcountry Presbyterian Church of Bluffton and First Scots Presbyterian Church of Charleston.

Surviving are his daughter Evelyn Blizzard (Jim) of Charleston SC; sons Vic Moss (Crystal) of Colorado, Jason Moss (Jennifer) of Colorado; his grandchildren, Kyle Blizzard, Ryan Blizzard (Samantha) of Charleston, Lauren Beadleston and Nathan Beadleston of Colorado; Sean Moss (Claire) of Colorado, Lindsay Moss; Cassandra Bolinger (Luke) of Colorado; Meghan Coday (Bryan) of Colorado; Kelly Moss (Edward Lyons) of California; great grandchildren Trent Blizzard, Evelyn Bolinger, Louisa Bolinger, Weston Coday, Syler Coday; his sister Evelyn Reddish of Savannah Georgia. As well as nephews Samuel Guerry (Jennifer) of South Carolina and Daniel Guerry (Cynthia) of Florida.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margery Lynch Guerry and his second wife Nancy Smith Guerry;  daughter Melissa Beadleston; brother Herbert Bailey Guerry.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at Maye River Baptist Church, Bluffton SC.
