Harry Ronald "Ron" McClellan

Harry Ronald “Ron” McClellan, 79 of Bluffton SC (formally of Lebanon PA) died March 11th in his home.

Ron was born on December 24^th, 1941 in Chester, PA to the late Harry and Margaret McClellan (Deputy).  He married Dolores (Bunny) Tighe on February 3, 1961, after being high school sweethearts.  Together, they enjoyed 60 years of marriage.

A graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, Ron worked as a pharmacist, opening McClellan’s Pharmacy with Bunny, in Lebanon PA, in 1974.  In 1970, as a 3^rd Degree Black Belt in Isshinryu karate, Ron started the Lebanon Isshinryu Karate School.  In 1979, Ron started what would become McClellan’s Computer Systems, helping computerize pharmacies and other businesses across the United States. 

Ron and Bunny moved to Sun City in Bluffton SC, where he worked as a pharmacist at Coastal Carolina Hospital.  Ron retired completely in 2018.  They both enjoyed an active lifestyle at Sun City, Hilton Head playing tennis, pickleball, golf and were involved at the theater too.  Ron loved making many great friends at Sun City.  They enjoyed traveling, including many cruises with his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Gene.  Ron (with Bunny) were accomplished ball room dancers, winning awards across the United States, and avid skiers, skiing in the United States, Canada and Europe. 

Ron loved his growing family very much.  Ron is survived by his loving wife, Bunny, sons Ron McClellan (Fran) and Dan McClellan (Myla), his sister Nancy Mathias (Gene), and grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew (Yanet), Rebecca, Katrina, Mia, Laura Hodges (James), Matthew Brand, and great grandchildren Hailey and Landen.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton SC on Wednesday March 17^th.  The family will receive friends at 10:00am, with a service to follow at 11:00 am.   Weather permitting, the visitation and services will be outside in the Pavilion at Sauls Funeral Home. For everyone’s safety, the family asks that masks be worn.
