Obituary

Harry Wilson Smith, 74, of Hardeeville, SC passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at Ridgeland Nursing Center of Ridgeland, SC.

Harry was married to Patricia Collins Smith in 1970 and she preceded him in death in 2019.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy E. Cook, Sr. (Vietnam War, 1966) and Michael Smith. 

Harry is survived by his brother, Kevin Smith (Debbie) of Ridgeland and several nieces and nephews.

Harry was born January 19, 1948 in Ridgeland to the late Fred W. Smith and Janelle Thomas Smith. He was employed for many years by W.S. Lee Hardware Co. of Tallahassee, FL. He later worked as a real estate agent and appraiser for Billy Hubbard Realty, retiring as an appraiser for the US Army Corps of Engineers. Harry was a member of Hardeeville Baptist Church and life-long member of the NRA. He was a well-known competitive pistol and shotgun enthusiast, an expert firearms appraiser, and frequent exhibitor at local gun and knife shows.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Purrysburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am until the hour of the service at the cemetery.

Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with arrangements.
