Helene' Marie (Cote) Hodges

Helene M. Hodges (Cote) age 97 of Bluffton SC passed away peacefully on August 21st in her home. She grew up in Haverhill MA and raised her family there. Upon retirement she moved to the South and has lived there for her remaining years. Helene was a 1941 graduate of Haverhill High School in Haverhill Ma. She married and raised 7 children while working for the New England Bell telephone company.

Helene was a beautiful seamstress and made many things over the years.  She had several hobbies to pass the time away. She was an avid croquet player. She was considered the “croquet champion” of Sun City where she lived. Daily she woke up and did crossword puzzles with “ink” always. Never a pencil for her. Helene loved making difficult puzzles . The more pieces and difficult the better. Weekly she played dominoes in her neighborhood with her friends.

She is predeceased by her husband James E. Hodges, her son Jeffery Hodges, and her daughter Rebecca Allen (Hodges).

She is survived by her children James Hodges and his wife Kathleen of Daytona FL, Pamela Johnson of Bluffton/Hilton Head  SC, Jon Hodges and his wife Carol of N. Hampton NH, Jay Hodges of Bluffton/Hilton Head SC, and Victoria Hodges and her partner James Wiseman of Nashville TN.  She  is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, and 10 great- grandchildren.

She will be missed by all that loved her.
