John David Pinckney was the 10th child of William E Pinckney and May Rivers Pinckney. He is survived by his wife Agnes Pinckney, his daughters Kelley Weston, Kate Johnson, Karen Floyd (spouse Larry Floyd), son Robert Pinckney (spouse Aubrey Pinckney), and his grandchildren Rhett Weston, Julian Weston IV, Hannah Johnson, Katie Leigh Floyd, Austin Floyd, John Robert Pinckney and Deacon Pinckney. He is also survived by 4 brothers, Sidney Pinckney, Donald Pinckney, Frank Pinckney, Robert Pinckney, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings William Pinckney, Charles Pinckney, Thomas Pinckney, Helen Himes and Mary Ann Richardson.
He was a proud Blufftonian and graduate of Bluffton High School in 1962. He was a lifelong resident of Pinckney Colony where he grew up milking cows for Coburg Dairy and farming the land. He loved his family, his cows, his tractors and motorcycles. He enjoyed his time grilling under the oak tree and all the good parties at “The Hut” with his lifelong friends. He will be missed by so many.
After a long battle with Huntington’s Disease he will be laid to rest on the land he loved.
Graveside services at 11:30 at the Pinckney Family Cemetery on Monday, December 28, 2020.
