James Joseph Gosselin, 83, of Bluffton, SC, husband of Alicia Gosselin, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Sprenger Healthcare of Bluffton.

Jim was born December 21, 1936 in Whitinsville, MA to the late Oscar Gosselin and Lena Cote Gosselin. He joined the United States Air Force at 18 years old and served in Alaska as a survival instructor.  Jim moved to Windham, Connecticut and was employed with Exxon in New Haven, CT as a petroleum truck driver for 30 years. He was awarded the 3 Million Mile Safety Drivers Award. Jim later joined the Navy and retired as a Seabee after 20 years of service. Jim met Barbara in Willimantic, CT and married in 1961 and resided in Clinton, CT where they raised their children. He volunteered as a medical response technician with the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department. He spent his off time coaching his daughters’ softball and swim teams and family camping trips. After Barbara death, Jim moved to Bluffton in 1999. It was there he met Alicia Edson. They married on May 25, 2009. Jim loved his family, cherished his grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with his precious dog and companion, Callie-Ann. He and Alicia enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, West Palm Beach, FL, Gatlinburg, TN, Connecticut, and Las Vegas, NV. At home, he would sit in his favorite chair and look out to the lagoon to watch the alligators and birds. Jim loved dancing and listening to music with Alicia. They made many memories that will always be cherished by Alicia. 

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Barbara Gosselin and sister, Lorraine Litman. He leaves behind his loving wife, Alicia; children, Pamela (Mark Neuendorf) and Deborah (Michael Cassella); step-sons, Larry Crane (Missy) and Bryan Riley (Dawn); grandchildren, Alexander and Michael Neuendorf and Giovanni and Jenna Cassella; step-grandchildren, Brynne, Tavyne (David) Edmunson, and Taylor; sister, Rita Pietras; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
