James T. (Jimmy) Riehl, 67 years old of Bluffton, South Carolina, formerly of Little Ferry, Hackensack, and Maywood, New Jersey, loving Son of the late Frederick Riehl and Philomena (Gambo) Riehl, beloved Son-in-Law of the late Charles Damiano and Mary (Arrabito) Damiano, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 21st, 2023 at the age 67. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Maria (Damiano) Riehl, his loving son Anthony Riehl and his wife Heather, his beloved daughter Jessica Marie Raimo and her husband Dominick, Cherished grandfather of Julianna and Shane Riehl, and Robert “RJ” Raimo. Dearest Brother of Joyce Logan, the Late Linda Marsh, Edward Riehl, and Fredrick Riehl. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his best friend, Harry (Jimmy) Burke.

James retired at the age of 62 from the City of Hackensack where he worked as a crossing guard. He had previously worked at The Friendship House, the Homeless Shelter, the St. Francis of Assisi School, all in Hackensack; Our Lady of Mercy School in Park Ridge; the Hoffman Moving Systems in Hackensack; and Thompson Brothers in River Edge.
James was a Parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church and Holy Trinity Church, both in Hackensack, New Jersey.
The family will received friends from 11:00 am until Noon on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Sauls Funeral Home 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton SC with a funeral service beginning at Noon and burial to follow in Lowcountry Memorial Gardens.
