James "Jim" Rees

James "Jim" Rees passed away September 8, 2020. Born in North Tonawanda on April 17, 1946, he was the son of the late John and Alice Jenkins Rees. Jim served in the Navy from August 1967 thru May 1971. During his service he was a member of the original crew of the USS San Jose. After getting out of the Navy, he spent the next 35 years working in the IT department at Praxiar. Jim eventually retired and moved to South Carolina.

Jim was a lifelong Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan and enjoyed going to home games. Jim was an avid boater and member of the Niagara Power Squadron. Jim enjoyed spending summer days on the Niagara River and Lake Erie. While on the water he loved to go fishing, pulling the kids on a towable behind the boat, watching the 4th of July fireworks, and drifting on the water while having his morning coffee. Jim loved all his kids and enjoyed coaching them in hockey, soccer, bowling and softball.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Gloria (Kroll) Rees, his children; James R. Rees, Carol Rees Lehman, Alice Rees, Adam (Marliena) Rees, Jessica (Anthony) DiTullio, and Jaclyn Seifert; ten grandchildren:  Brittney and Samantha DiTullio, John and Matt Lehman, Justin, Jenna, Emily, Alex, Josh and Lucas Rees; one great grandchild Tristan Decker; his sister Florence (Tom) Rees Miranda; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his three brothers:  Jack (late Susan) Rees, Bill (late Nancy) Rees, and Robert Rees.

Public Viewing:  4:00 PM, Friday, Sep 11, 2020 at Sauls Funeral Home (Bluffton, SC). 

Memorial Service:  5:00 PM, Friday, Sep 11 2020 at Sauls Funeral Home (Bluffton, SC).

Masks are required for both events and social distancing is recommended.
