Joe Robinson Winney

Joe R. Winney, age 92, of Bluffton, SC passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2021.

Mr. Winney was born on April 4, 1929 in Columbus, OH. Shortly after, his family moved to Akron, OH. He graduated from Kent State University with a degree in chemistry and worked for BF Goodrich for 30 years. He married his first wife of 43 years, Joanna (Welling) Winney.

They raised 3 children then retired to FL in 1987. Later he married Adele Newman Winney and moved to Bluffton, SC. Joe enjoyed golf, duplicate bridge and was an award winning genealogy researcher in his retirement. 

Joe was preceded in death by parents John and Josephine (Hall) Winney, brother Robert Winney, sister Margaret Wardlaw, and wife Joanna (Welling) Winney.  He leaves behind his wife Adele Newman Winney, her family, his children, Michael (Susan) Winney, Richard (Jo) Winney, and Lori Dennis (Arch)  along with 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
