Karen Anne Robinson (nee Blanding) died peacefully and with her children at her side in her home in Bluffton, SC, on November 21, 2022. She was 80 years old.
Beloved by friends and family alike, Karen was preceded in death by her husband of nearly fifty years, Dick Robinson, in 2012. They had both grown up in the greater Lansing, MI, area, and raised their own family in Delta Township. They were avid boaters and spent their summers with family friends, cruising around the Straits of Mackinac, Wisconsin's Door Peninsula, and the North Channel in Ontario, Canada.
Karen will be forever remembered for her patience, her kindness, and her peaceful heart. She is survived by her children, Bill Robinson (Sheila) and Bonnie Owens (Jim), brother Robert Blanding (Gay-Lynn), brother-in-law Bob Robinson (Sue), grandchildren Ally Sears and Gigi, Vivian, Adam, Max, and Josie Robinson, nephews Todd Blanding, Scott Blanding, and Greg Robinson, and niece Amy Cunningham. Following her wishes, a private ceremony will be held in Michigan in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Karen's name to the Capital Area Humane Society.
