Karl William Ammons

Born in Brunswick GA on April 15, 1948, son of the late William and Reba Ammons.  Karl passed away in Bluffton SC on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the age of 73. His life was well lived and he was well loved.

Karl is survived by his beloved wife Luce and five children Melissa (Donnie) Smith, Jacksonville FL, Kirby (Meredith) Nashville TN, Nicole (Eric) Geiger, Midway GA, Grayson and Morgan, Bluffton SC. Karl was a loving father and taught them to love God, family and to be thankful. He passed on his love of music, books and history. He took extreme pride in his five grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Luke, John Paul and Tommy.

His acute awareness of the importance of a life lived with the ones you love over any material possessions was unmistakable to anyone that new him.

Karl will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father and granddaddy, he did the best he could to teach and guide them. He held a diversity of positions, VP in Banking, Speech Writer for Matt Mattingly, Teacher and President of LFC. He took pride in serving his country in Vietnam, holding the rank of sergeant. He always said the Army made him a man and taught him patience and everyone knew it was the sergeants that ran the companies.

Karl will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
