Kenneth W. Schroeder (79) of Bluffton, SC passed away on February 11 after battling several recent health issues. He is survived by his wife, Sandi, of 50 years, his children, Amber and Don and dog, Sir Taffy Nubbin. He moved to this area in June 2008 from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wells and Dorothy Schroeder. He loved to take cruises with his wife (well over 50) as well as vacations. He was also instrumental with his wife in forming the Illinois Group in Sun City, and had been active in various Sun City clubs and groups including the Amateur Radio Club and Republicans of SCHH. He had also been active in the Garden Walk neighborhood as its first treasurer. He was a fan of both the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. While living in the Chicago area he enjoyed attending many games for both teams and had been a season ticket holder for the Bears. He retired at 65 from his career in marketing and print production. He was also a paid-on-call firefighter in the 1970s for Stone Park, Villa Pink, and Lombard, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Bluffton Self Help would be appreciated. A memorial service will be arranged post-covid.
