Kenneth (Ken) Charles Long

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth (Ken) Charles Long on October 14, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. His loving son Adam and beloved wife Nina were by his side.

He was born October 16, 1950 in Boston Massachusetts, son of the late Charles and Gloria Long.

Growing up in Stoughton Massachusetts he attended Boston Schools.

At the age of 18 he joined the United States Air Force serving as a Staff Sergeant Security Police stationed at Ubon Royal Air Force Base in Thailand during the Vietnam War.

After serving four years he returned home and attended Umass Amherst to pursue a career in Computer Science.

He was employed as an Information Technology manager for many years before retiring to Bluffton South Carolina in 2011.

He enjoyed music, working around the yard,golf,spending time with family and traveling with his wife Nina.

He loved playing golf especially with his Saturday golf buddies.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Nina,son Adam,step daughters Kim Watson,Amy Wright, Robin Hoyle,as well as his sister Gloria Tuminello,Madelyn Sargeant,and brother James Long.

He was predeceased by brothers Thomas Long and Robert Long.

He also leaves behind several nieces,nephews,and step grandchildren.

He was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Church in Bluffton, South Carolina. He was a devout catholic who was comforted by his strong religious faith.

He will be greatly missed.
