Linda Gerber Obituary

by the deceased Linda Gerber:

LINDA T. GERBER (née Stoller) died on 11/14/2019.  Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 10, 1942 where she lived until 1970 at which time she moved to Miami, Florida.  She returned to New York City in 2008, and in 2010 moved to South Carolina where she lived out her remaining years.  Linda is predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul, the true love of her life and predeceased by her two darling dogs: Schnitzel and Blondie, who both helped keep her alive during some lonely years.  Linda enjoyed many blessings and was grateful to those who enriched and enhanced her existence.  She is survived by her sister, Roberta Sandenbergh; sister and brother-in law, Carol and Jack B. Gerber; nephew, Ben Gerber; nieces, Margot Sandenbergh-Bozmarov and Hillary Rogers, her Romanian exchange-student daughter, Diana McPhee; along with many friends and cousins.  Linda’s wishes will be granted - cremation with no memorial service.  If any friends or family members wish to get together in celebration of her life, she would be happy for them to do so.  She leaves this world looking forward to joining her beloved Paul and all her loving family that went before her.  If anyone is so inclined, they may make a donation to the March of Dimes, which saved her from paralysis when she had polio as a child.

by Linda’s niece, Margot, and her sister, Roberta:

Linda was the warmest and most giving person you could ever meet. Strangers would get to know her whole life story within 15 minutes of meeting her. She turned every encounter into a friend. That plus her whip-smart humor was her greatest legacy. Her niece Margot who lives her life at a far more rapid pace, vows to honor her aunt by learning to leave more of herself with everyone she meets and taking the time to invest in every encounter. Linda’s sister Roberta says she will try to do the same.
