Lois Donna (Staib) Laing

Lois Donna (Staib) Laing passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the age of 76, after a long-fought battle with cancer.  She was resting peacefully at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  Born on November 9, 1944 in Audubon, New Jersey the daughter of Fred & Evelyn Staib.  Lois was a loving wife of 42 years to the late Joseph Roderick (Rick) Laing Jr., formerly of Morrestown, NJ they vacationed on Hilton Head Island with their family since the early 70’s before making the Island their permanent residence in 1996.

Lois was a graduate of Audubon High School, where she was voted Class President and Homecoming Queen.  As a child she loved ballet and was a professional ballerina with the Delaware Ballet Company for over 10 years.  She then received her real estate licenses, where she loved meeting new people, showing them around, and assisting them with finding their new homes in New Jersey, Hilton Head, and Bluffton.  Lois and her husband were avid tennis players as members of the Green Valley Racquet Club in NJ and Shipyard Country Club in Hilton Head.  As a loving grandmother (G-Mom) attended all her grandchildren’s athletic events, which included baseball, basketball, and softball.

She is survived her three children Brian (Cathleen) of Bluffton, SC; Rick (Laura) of Fort Mill, SC; Nicole (Marc) of Bluffton, SC; four grandchildren Nikolaus, Casey, Ethan, and Dylan of Bluffton, SC; and her brother’s Fred and Eric Staib of Mt. Emphrim, NJ.  Her loss will be felt by a host of loving relatives and wonderful friends.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of her life from 3pm – 7pm on Sunday, April 11^th at the Oldfield Plantation at 6 Meadowhark Road, Arrowhead Pavilion, Okatie, SC.
