Lois Adell Gibson Malphrus Bootle, 98, widow of the late Floyd G. Malphrus and Tom Bootle, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at NHC in Bluffton, SC.
She was born in Gardi, GA on July 25, 1921 to the late John Wilson Gibson and Margaret Viola Harrison Gibson.
Lois retired from Holiday Wear Manufacturing, where she worked many years. She was a graduate of Ridgeland High School and also a graduate of a Nursing Assistant Course. She was the oldest member of the Great Swamp Baptist Church in Ridgeland, SC, where she attended faithfully over 50 years. She loved her Lord and Savior and talked with Him daily. She enjoyed listening to music and loved to sing Christian songs. Her faith, strength, and love for her family were always a great influence to her loved ones and friends.
Lois is survived by four daughters, Jane Adell Cannon (the late Randolph Cannon) of Hardeeville, SC, Gladys Janette Johanson Miglioretto (Richard) of Orlando, FL, Mary Patricia Lassiter (David) of Hardeeville, SC, Barbara Ellen Fultz (Tom) of Bluffton, SC, and daughter-in-law, Doris Sims Malphrus (the late Walter Floyd Malphrus); grandchildren, the late Randolph Wayne Cannon, Cathie Boulware (the late Doug Boulware) of Bluffton, SC, Shannon Malphrus (Kendall) of Ridgeland, SC, Faith Harvey of Beaufort, SC, Stacy Carr (Hunter) of Waxhaw, NC, Traci Johanson Malott (Britt) of Orlando, FL, Robert W. Johanson of Orlando, FL, Shayne Allen Lassiter (Rebecca) of Hardeeville, SC, Christopher Scott Lassiter of Salem, VA, and the late Donna Lynette Gruber. She had 12 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Great Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing should be exercised and face masks are appreciated.
