Lynda Kay Potter passed away on May 16, 2022 at the Hilton Head Island Regional Hospital from injuries as a result of dementia.
Lynda was born in Salamanca, NY to Pauline Bertha (Atkins) Hogue and William Glen Hogue and had two sisters, Judith (Hogue) Zeimer (deceased) and Martha Jeanne (Hogue) McCarty of Murfreesboro, TN.
Lynda was married to Steven L. Potter for 62+ years and was the mother of five children. Michael William of Bala Cynwyd, PA, Cheryl Lynne (deceased), Marilyn Leigh Lee of Reading, PA, Nanette Jeanne Faciszewski, most recently of Okatie, SC and Matthew Christian Potter of Santa Cruz, CA. She is survived by 14 grandchildren and soon to be, 10 great grandchildren.
Lynda was a very accomplished artist, teacher, businesswoman, wife and mother and was a member of Co-operative Art Galleries in Savannah, GA and Bluffton, SC. She co-founded two of those galleries known as SOBA (Society of Bluffton Artists) and Pluff Mudd, both in Bluffton, SC.
Her art work hangs all over the world and she received numerous awards over her 60+ years as an artist. She was very involved in the art communities of Reading, PA, Savannah, GA and Bluffton, SC.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, remembrances be sent to Memory Matters, 117 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC.
There will be celebrations of life later at places to be determined.
