Marcus McDougall Obituary

Marcus Luke McDougall, age 63, died peacefully surrounded by his family on November 1, 2021, at his home in Bluffton, SC, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born October 11, 1958, in Ridgeland, SC, to the late Peggy W. and John R. McDougall. He owned and operated Palmetto Security Systems before retiring due to his diagnosis. He loved spending time on the May River with his family and friends, where the wake of his laughter will always be heard.

Marcus is survived by his wife, Diana R. McDougall, a daughter, Abby M. (Ryan) Olson of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a son, Zachary L. (Caroline) McDougall of Bluffton, SC; brother, Christopher H. (Rebecca) McDougall of Springfield, GA; and three loving grandchildren, Everly Clare Olson (4); Lillian Rose Olson (2); and Everett Luke McDougall (2). He was preceded in death by his brother, Herman R. (Rudy) McDougall.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Sauls Funeral Home Pavilion, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC. It is recommended that attendees bring a chair for their comfort. A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Heyward House Bluffton, SC.
