Maria Rose Lentini

Maria Rose Lentini (nee Lamatina), 74, of Bluffton, SC  passed away peacefully on October 26, 2021, surrounded by her family and loved ones.  Maria grew up in Union City, NJ, lived most of her life in Dumont, NJ with her husband and children.  She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years in Bluffton, SC.  She worked at Penguin Putnam Publishing for 19 years and enjoyed gardening, ceramics, bocce, playing cards, knitting, and bowling.  Maria will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Maria was predeceased by her parents Edward Lamatina and Gertrude Donovan (nee Cordts), her older brother Robert Lamatina, and her twin sister Rose Bianchi (nee Lamatina).  She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Pasquale Lentini.  She is also survived by her two children Alfonso Lentini and Angelina Yanick (nee Lentini), her two grandchildren Luke and Lucinda Lentini, and her older brother James Lamatina.  Maria requested a celebration of life be held in her honor and a funeral mass.  We request all of Maria's loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29909 on Sunday, October 31 at 3:00 pm.  The funeral mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great  Catholic Church, 31 Saint Gregory Drive, Bluffton, SC 29909 on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 10:30 am.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at https://themmrf.org/
