Martha Traylor Webb George passed away peacefully April 17, 2022 at age 89 in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Known as a playful Mimi to her seven grandchildren and loved by all for her easy southern friendliness, she will be greatly missed.
Born November 20, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Henry and Pearl Traylor, Martha was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth George and Cecil Webb, devoted mother to Lynn (Jan) Engelhardtsen, Suzanne (Joe) Tibbetts and Skip (Susan) Webb, sister to Mary Banister, the late Edna Hughes and the late Harold Traylor, and loving grandmother to Andie, Cole and Tray Tibbetts, Thomas Engelhardtsen-Fernandez, Eric Engelhardtsen and Cameron and Rachel Webb.
Always adventurous and willing to try anything, Martha enjoyed horseback riding, dancing, skiing, golf, bridge, cooking and volunteering, but loved nothing more than being a mother. Her three children were, in her words, “the light of my life” and she was the constant light in theirs.
A private family gathering will take place where champagne, laughter and memories will be shared by those who are eternally thankful to have been lucky enough to call her mom, Mimi and friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted by Memory Matters at mymemorymatters.org/donate or mailed to 117 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head, SC 29926.
