It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Melody Sue Inman, 63, of Bluffton, SC. Melody passed away with her family by her side on October 9, 2023 after an extended illness.
Melody was born on May 2, 1960, in Lancaster County, PA, the daughter of the late Llewelyn R LeVan & Elizabeth R LeVan. She grew up in Bloomfield, NY on a farm and enjoyed horseback riding, showing black angus cows and getting into mischief. In 1981, Melody moved to Hilton Head Island to raise her daughter and be close to her parents. She worked at the Ford Dealership (Formerly Arnold Palmer Ford), where she met her husband, Harry J Inman. They were married in 1986. She then took a job at Hilton Head Hospital and worked there for over 30 years in various roles but her favorite position was the PCU Unit Secretary.
She was kind to so many and never met a stranger she didn’t want to help. She loved her family and especially her Basset hound, Callie. Even during her last days, she never lost her sense of humor or her love of coffee.
In addition to her parents, Melody was predeceased by her husband, Harry J Inman. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Trevor Garbett of Seabrook, SC, grandsons, Trenton and Bryson Garbett of Seabrook, SC, sisters, Judith Leffler of Hardeeville, SC and Linda Reynolds (Larry) of Bloomfield, NY, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the care givers and the Friends of Caroline Hospice nurses, nursing assistants, doctors and volunteers that cared for Melody during her lengthy illness, not only for their tender care but also for the additional time they gave her and the memories she was able to make because of their care.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2 pm until 3 pm with a 3 pm Memorial Service on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Red Dam Baptist Church, 488 Red Dam Church Road, Hardeeville, SC 29927
