Pamela Rose Kerman, 74, of Bluffton, SC, passed away on May 16, 2023. Pam was born Jan. 10, 1949, to Cassia and Harold Hoffman in Brooklyn, New York. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from State University of New York- New Paltz and her master’s degree in secondary education from Long Island University C.W. Post. Pamela had a passion for teaching and working with people to help them truly learn and grow.
In 1977, Pamela married Elliot Kerman. They moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. After 30 years of teaching middle school math, Pam retired from Fulton Junior High School in 2003. She and Elliot moved to Bluffton, SC, in 2013 to be closer to their daughter, Jessica, and their grandchildren. Pam enjoyed making jewelry, playing Mah Jongg and card games with friends, and spending time with her family. She was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her passing leaves an emptiness with all who knew her.
Pam is survived by her husband Elliot Kerman; her daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Dustin Sparks; her granddaughters Emma and Lily Sparks; her sisters and brothers-in-law Gail and Stuart Goldner and Carol and Marty Goldman; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and extended family.
Pam’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to in Pam’s honor to the American Heart Association (heart.org) or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASCPA.org).
