Paul Padula, 71, of Bluffton, SC passed away peacefully on May 9, 2022 with his wife and daughter by his side.
He was preceded in death by his son Matthew and is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ellen, his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Kevin Sproge, and his grandsons, Ryan and Aidan.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Hazel Padula and was a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in English. He and Mary Ellen raised their family in Southern New Jersey. He had a successful 35-year career with the US Government, retiring in 2005 as a Regional Director with the Federal Protective Service. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Bluffton, SC where he enjoyed his time golfing, playing bocce and performing on his guitar and fiddle, as well as being an active member of the Sun City Bird Club and the local Coast Guard Auxiliary.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 20, 2022 at 11am at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or National Audubon Society.
