Phyllis Paul Matik passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from complications of Covid.
She was born on April 23, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the daughter of Dynie Lillian and
Benjamin Harry Paul. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Kenneth Matik, 3
children Monica Franco Webb, Darren (Brett) Matik, and Marc (Nicole) Matik and sister Adele
Paul (David Fitzgerald). She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren
Andrew (Jennifer) Katz, Marissa Katz, Nicole Webb, Zachary Matik, Xander Matik, Ethan Matik,
Alana Katz and Mariah Katz.
Phyllis graduated in 1964 from Richmond Academy in Augusta, Georgia. She was involved with
the Drama Club and was a competitive swimmer. She attended Massey Business College after
graduation. Later in life she continued to pursue her education receiving her Bachelor of
Science degree in 2007 from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She worked at Jefferson
Hospital as a drug and alcohol rehabilitation counselor, a profession she loved.
Phyllis and Ken retired to Bluffton, S.C. in 2014. She enjoyed golf, ceramics, her dogs Cooper
and Cali and being near family and friends. She will be missed and always remembered.
