Raymond John Billie

Raymond John Billie died peacefully at home on November 19, 2019. He was born May 9, 1938 in Bridgeport, CT. Raised in Stratford, CT, he also lived in Ellington & Huntington, CT and Aruba. He was married to Delores Scinto Billie for 52 years. Their loyal and devoted beagle, Barney, brought many happy years to Ray’s life.

For 41 years, Raymond and Delores enjoyed the life and adventure of running concession stands at state fairs and special events throughout the states. The last 16 years were spent at the Eastern States Exposition at West Springfield, MA where Ray originated the “Big E” cream puff.

Ray’s passion was traveling. He and Delores spent three weeks in India and traveled throughout many countries in Europe. He loved river cruising on the Rhine in Germany. He most enjoyed going to the Christmas Markets in Germany with friends the last five years in a row.

The family will receive friends beginning at 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm, Monday, November 25, 2019 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton. A Celebration of Life will follow at Sun City River Bend from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palmetto Animal League.
