Raymond Joseph Nardelli Jr., 74, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away on January 19th, 2020. Ray was born in Old Forge, Pennsylvania on April 5th, 1945 to Clelia Rose and Ray Nardelli Senior. He received a full football scholarship to Purdue University, playing for the Purdue Boilermakers and graduated in 1967 with a degree in civil engineering.
Ray worked as an engineer for almost 50 years. He was a proud member of SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) and received the Landfill Gas and Biogas Distinguished Individual Achievement Award in 2004 for his work with Landfill Gas Flare technology. In retirement Ray enjoyed woodworking, sailing, traveling, and being handyman to his friends, neighbors and community.
Ray is survived by Paulette Nardelli; daughter, Lisa Nardelli; son, Raymond John (Lynn) Nardelli; grandchildren, Elliot and Olivia Nardelli; son, Paul (Emma) Nardelli; brother, Robert (Sue) Nardelli; niece and nephews, Kristine, Robert, Michael and Timothy. Ray leaves behind many friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends on Monday January 27th, 2020 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Sauls Funeral Home 90 Simmonsville Rd. Bluffton, SC 29910. A funeral service will follow at 3:00pm.
