Reinalda Ussery Obituary

On February 15, 2021 at 8:55 pm, Reinalda (Nellie) Laloma Ussery entered into her reward. She passed as she lived life, surrounded by family, friends, love and laughter at Hilton Head Hospital. She was 83 years young, born July 15, 1937 in Frederiksted, St Croix. Ms. Nellie was the widow of Clarence Harvey Ussery, the love of her life. She never remarried, but the Joyful Widow would often tell people she was married to a rich Jew named Jesus. Nellie was passionate about her faith, never ashamed to witness to the faithfulness of God. She was a prayer warrior, a mountain mover, and a worshipper. If you came into her home, Nellie fed you. If you came into her life, Nellie loved you. Nellie is survived by eight children and their spouses: Sharon Ussery, Suzette Kelly (Kevin Kelly), Sybil Pope (Benjamin Pope), Geist Ussery, Shana Rockwell, Grady Ussery, Sheila Alleberg (Michael Allenberg) and Stephanie Alexander (Kendon Alexander). There are also two stepchildren and their spouses, Gary Ussery (Grace Ussery) and Sandy Melton (Bill Melton). In addition, Nellie leaves behind 18 grandchildren: Whitley Deputy, Zachary Deputy, Alexis Arellano (Sergio Arellano), Parker Deputy, Preston Ussery, Joshua Pope, Hannah and Halle Newman, Halen Ussery, Daniel and Graysen Ussery, Aiden and Annabella Allenberg, Josiah and Noah Alexander, Amanda Gargus, Will Melton, and Chris Melton. She was also blessed with five great grandchildren: Ann Deputy daughter of Zachry and Leslie Deputy, Blake & Jordan Ross and Joseph Deputy, children of Whitley Deputy and Barbara Ross, and Geist E. Ussery son of Preston Ussery. Nellie will be dearly missed by her siblings Lucy Horsley, Paquita M. Rios, and Robelto LaLoma.

Viewing for friends and family: 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, March 1, 2021 at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC.

Private Family Service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
