Robert DeWitt Johnson, Jr., 79, of Goose Creek, SC passed away on January 6, 2021.

Robert was born on August 4, 1941, in Baxley, GA to the late Robert D. Sr., and Georgieree (Hutchison) Johnson.

Robert was a Methodist. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and served as Presidential Guard for John F. Kennedy. Robert was a Master Mason member of the Goose Creek Masonic Lodge. He was also a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association.

During his working career, he was employed as a colorist for Bayer Company. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his wife, Mitzi (Jones) Johnson and sister, Carolyn Malphrus.

Surviving family includes: two daughters, Susan Smith (Donald) of Rincon, GA and Sheryl Fillman of Goose Creek, SC; a very special friend, Sandra Breland; sister-in-law, Syble Hollingshead of Ridgeland, SC; grandchildren, Alex Smith, Jennifer Fillman, Samuel Smith, Carey Vines, Sarah Fillman, Katlyn Bocen, and David Gillian; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Max, Wendy, Skye, Paisley, Conner, Michael John, Nolan, Carson, Gracelyn and James.

Graveside Service & Interment: 1:00 PM, Monday, January 11, 2021 at Ridgeland Cemetery (Ingram Street) in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
