Robert Emory Krommes, 99, of Bluffton, SC died July 8, 2021. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Arrangements by Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC.
Bob was a graduate of the University of Baltimore. He served in World War II as a B-29 pilot in the Pacific. He later served in the USG in foreign military affairs and intelligence operations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Wilma Lord and Elva Huey, and sisters and brothers-in-law Elizabeth (Betty) Connor, John Schneider, Ruth (Peg) Smith, Alma Edwards, Joan Achenbach, and Arthur Schneider.
He is survived by the following family members who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly: his brother-in-law George Smith and sister-in-law Rowena Schneider, nieces Beverly Paul, Darlene Popp, Cheryl Schlosser, Sally Connor, Lisa Barlet, Lynn Schneider, Heidi Gregory, Amy Schneider, April Rodriguez, and nephews John Smith, David Smith, Michael Schneider, and Thomas Achenbach and their families. The family also wishes to extend our deepest appreciation to Judy & Bob Budd and Doreen & Jim Pierce for their loyal friendship, faithful kindness and loving care for Bob.
Bob is now at rest with his wife Rebecca, the love of his life.
