Robert (Bobby) Waldroup, 79, passed away at Beaufort Nursing and Rehab in the early morning hours of May 29, 2022, after a long unselfish battle with Alzheimer’s.
Robert, affectionately known to friends and family as Bobby, was born March 6, 1943 in Charleston, SC, to the late Daniel and Patricia Waldroup.
Bobby loved life and spent most of his life living in his favorite place, Charleston SC. He made a life career of his passion, driving trucks. He traveled all over the US truck driving and listening to his favorite music, classic country.
He was a gentle, kind hearted, caring, and loving person that was soft spoken with a contagious smile and laugh. He loved his family and friends, country music, cowboy boots, sitting at Pappy’s Restaurant with friends and a large glass of cold Sweet Tea. Those who knew him, knew he liked to dress in western shirts with starched jeans, every hair in place and the smell of Stetson cologne.
Bobby leaves behind his daughter, Kimberlie Denmark; sisters, Thelma Lott, Doris Lott, Gloria Elliott, Betty Lemons, Ellen Toney; brothers Neil Shore and Rick Shore; a devoted nephew, (Little) Jimmy Thomas, as well as many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy Thomas, Lynwood Waldroup, and Morris Waldroup, and sister, Gail De'Tournillon.
Family would like to give our sincere appreciation to MSA Hospice and Beaufort Nursing and Rehab staff for the care they provided.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2022 at VFW 9509, Moncks Corner, SC.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.act.alz.org as a tribute to Robert Waldroup’s memory.
