Ronald Richard Steinberg

Ronald Steinberg, 76, of Bluffton, formerly of York and Kingston, PA, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 17, 2023.

Born July 4, 1947, in Kingston, PA, he was the son of the late Adam and Anita Stravinski Steinberg.  Ron was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1965, and Wilkes College.  He worked at Topps Company, Inc. Duryea, PA and Classic Carmel Candy, York, PA as Vice-President General Manager.  In his later years he owned and operated Ron’s Lawn and Plant Service in Bluffton and Hilton Head.

Ron enjoyed watching his baseball teams, the Baltimore Orioles and the Atlanta Braves with his daughters, Jennifer and Jessica. He loved watching the birds in the sanctuary that he and his wife, Wileen, created in their backyard.  Everyone who knew him loved his infectious sense of humor.   His daughters spent many memorable hours vacationing, visiting, and talking daily on the phone with their selfless and loving father.  Ron’s life centered around his wife, Wileen, and daughters. He adored being a grandfather to his granddaughter, Emma, who was the apple of his eye.

Surviving are his loving wife, Wileen Andrejko Steinberg, with whom he would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Aug. 24th; his loving children, Jennifer Matar (Bachir), Charleston; and Jessica Kurpis (Brian) Bluffton; granddaughter, Emma Kurpis; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, of Pennsylvania; and numerous nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Yvonne Patton and Connie Werner.

Visitation for family and friends will take place at Saint Gregory the Great, 31 Saint Gregory’s Drive, Bluffton, SC on Friday, September 1 at 1:30 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be at St. Gregory the Great Columbarium, Bluffton, SC.
