Ronald W. Timblin Sr. passed quietly in his sleep on January 5, 2023. He was born in Akron, Ohio on December 11, 1938. Ron is survived by his wife, Linda of 62 years, his two sons and daughters-in-law Ron and Karen Timblin Jr., and Bob and Bonnie Timblin, and three loved grandchildren, Chloe, Brandon, and Shannon. He is also survived by his two sisters, Patricia Timblin and Jacqueline Knight and their families. He joins his parents Russell and Vivian Timblin in heaven.
One year after graduating from Ellet High School, Ron married his high school sweetheart Linda and raised a family in Brimfield, Ohio. After seeing their two boys through high school Ron and Linda left Brimfield in 1984 for the sunny beaches of Hilton Head Island, SC. In 1986 Ron founded Floor Fashion, a full-service floor covering company, which is still in existence today as Abbey Floor Fashion. Ron served the community through the Lion’s Club from 1985 to 2010, acting as President in 1990 and 1992, as well as being a member of the Hilton Head Area Homebuilders Association. While a member of the Lions Club, Ron was active in fundraisers for Camp Leo as well as participating as a volunteer at Camp Leo. Throughout his life Ron enjoyed adventure, from racing motorcycles to traveling the U.S. in cars, vans, and campers. In his early years Ron was very handy, helping his dad build their family home, constructing his own water skis, and building out the basement in his family home in Brimfield. His favorite activity was walking the beach with Linda. Towards the end of his life he received great care and friendship from his caregiver Leticia Laney.
Ron always carried a smile, loved a good joke, and laughing with friends. With his quick wit, Ron made friends wherever he went. He will never be forgotten and will always be missed.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 20th until the 3:00 pm hour of the Celebration of Ronald’s Life at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bluffton Self Help (https://blufftonselfhelp.kindful.com/) or Camp Leo Council, P. O. Box 6483, Hilton Head Island, SC 29938.
