Ronald (Ron) Franklin Naughton, age 88, passed away at home on Hilton Head Island, SC on Friday, July 29, 2022. He was born to Joseph and Elizabeth Naughton on January 5, 1934, in Brackenridge, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, parents, sister Dorothy and six brothers, Joseph, Walter, Albert, John, Russell, and Raymond. Ronald is survived by his daughters Kathleen (Gregory) Shipe, Plymouth, MN, Christine Hahn, Rock Hill, SC, and Deborah (Mark Kreinbrink) Naughton, Lewis Center, OH, grandsons Brian Shipe and wife JoNette, Minneapolis, MN, Andrew Shipe and wife Natalie, Brainerd, MN, granddaughter Lauren Kreinbrink, Lewis Center, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Ronald was a US Army veteran. He attended Indiana State Teacher’s College, Indiana, PA and in 1957 was awarded a BS in Mathematics and Physical Science. After teaching Ronald worked at PPG and attended Duquesne Law School where he earned a Juris Doctor in 1966. Ronald worked as a patent attorney at Rockwell International and was a partner at Armstrong, Westerman, Hattori, McLeland & Naughton until his retirement.
There will be a private family service at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC.
