Ruth E (Coughlin) Clark slipped away peacefully Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
Born and raised in Schenectady, NY to John D. & Ruth H. (Klein) Coughlin on 11/5/1936. Ruth then spent her final years in Bluffton, SC.
Deeply loved by family, friends and a host of healthcare workers. She will be missed.
Anyone that knew Ruth could relate to these words written by her Granddaughter, Jessica.
" You will be missed, Nana Pots. I will take life "inch by inch" as you always told me to do so. I will look out for the cardinals and hummingbirds and feel you there with me. I will always remind myself of the Irish I have flowing through my blood. I will teach my daughter how to make your pumpkin cake and hope it comes out just as delicious as when we would bake it together. I will do better at speaking the word of God to others and keep my faith strong. I will remind myself that you are now with Bill, the love of your life, your best friend and you are no longer suffering in pain. Afterlife will be your best life. I wish I could have said goodbye, but I know I will see you again."
Ruth is predeceased by both her parents, her sister Kathleen (Coughlin) Brucker, ex-husband Richard J. Sanford, Husband Bill (William) M. Clark and her youngest son William R. Sanford.
She is survived by her brother in law Gerald E. Brucker of Schenectady, NY, Children Laurie R (Sanford) Gemmett of Bluffton SC, Brian J. Sanford (Pamela) of Beaufort, SC and David L. Sanford of Ballston Spa, NY.
