We have come together as family and friends to pay tribute to the life and legacy of Ms. Ruthie M. Jenkins of Ridgeland, SC.
Ruthie M. Jenkins was born April 11, 1946 to the late Wilbur and Caroline Singleton Jenkins of Ridgeland, SC.
Ruthie attended the public schools of Ridgeland, South Carolina. She was employed with Palmetto Dunes of Hilton Head, SC for many, many years. She was a faithful member of New Road Baptist Church until her passing.
On March 23, 2020 the Lord called her to eternal life. Ruthie M. Jenkins has one daughter, Ms. Lorene Jenkins, who resides in Rock Hill, SC; and one son, Daniel Cannick, Jr. Ruthie had five sisters and one brother who preceded her in death, Martha Singleton (Robert), Mary Fennell (William), Janie Jenkins, Dora Jenkins, Willie Mae Cannick (Daniel), and Wilbur Jenkins, Jr.
Those who remain to cherish her memories are shared by her four brothers, Elijah Jenkins (Jeanette) and John Jenkins, both of Ridgeland, SC, Herbert Jenkins (Jennifer) of Hilton Head, SC, and Joseph Gregory of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Liza Gregory and Emily Jenkins of Ridgeland, SC; two aunts, Jane Hicks of Philadelphia, PA and Rosa Bowers (Lawrence) of Ridgeland, SC; one uncle, Johnnie Hicks of Jersey City, NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Also fond memories will be shared by her special friends, First Lady Roberta Simmons, Rose Nelson, Alberta Pinckney, Eula Mae Austin, and Beverly Gadson.
