Sarah Elizabeth "Libby" (Malphrus) Mears

MCCORMICK  -   Sarah Elizabeth 'Libby" Malphrus Mears,  87, passed away  Friday, May 6, 2022, at NHC Healthcare of Greenwood.

Born in Ridgeland, SC on October 29, 1934, to the late Robert M. and Annie M. Malphrus. She was a member of Parksville Baptist Church where she played the organ and piano for many years. She was a retired secretary for Lee Sturkey, Attorney, and at McCormick United Methodist Church and McCormick First Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband , Robert B, Mears , Sr. and daughter Joye M. Terry, and daughter in law, Jan C. Mears. She is survived by three sons, Robert B. 'Roban' Mears, Jr. (Athena) of Georgetown, SC, Graylin P. 'Sam' Mears (Peggy) of Aiken, SC, and Julian K. Mears (Janice) of McCormick, SC, a son in law, Wayne Terry (Donna) of Lexington, SC, two brothers, Oswell V. "Ozzie" Malphrus, Sr. and Robert M. "Bobby" Malphrus, Jr. (Jeanine),  nine grandchildren, Trey, Cassie, Wesley, Christian, Andrew, Ben, Kale, Josh and Caleb and one great granddaughter, Ciara.

Memorial service will be held at 12:30 , Monday, May 9,  at Parksville Baptist Church, Parksville, SC. The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 11 to 12:30. Graveside services will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, May 10, at Ridgeland Cemetery, Ridgeland, SC.  The family will receive friends at the graveside afterwards. Memorials may be made to Parksville Baptist Church or NHC Healthcare of Greenwood.
