Shirley Zarny

Shirley Zarny, 92, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2020.

Born in New York City, Shirley spent 40 years as a Special Education Teacher for AHRC on Long Island, retiring 20 years ago. She loved working with her clients specializing in arts & crafts. 

Shirley truly enjoyed working with crewel embroidery, stitchery, and cooking.  For a number of years, Shirley and her husband, Phil Zarny, created original stitcheries and stitchery kits. Shirley enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, and sewing.  She loved living in Bluffton, SC.

Predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Phil Zarny, and her beautiful daughter, Lisa Zarny. She is survived by her son, Seth Zarny and his wife, Ellen Radish of Brookeville, Maryland; granddaughters, Rachel Zarny Short and Sara Zarny; grandson, Jared Pepper; and a great grandson, Henry Alan Short.

A Memorial Service will be held at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton SC, on Monday, March 2nd at 11am.  A shiva will be held at 40 Candlelight Lane, Bluffton, SC in Sun City at 7pm also on Monday March 2nd.
