Thomas Roy Cooler

Thomas Roy Cooler, age 76 of Hardeeville passed away on October 8, 2019 at Coastal Carolina Hospital with his beloved family at his side.

Thomas was born in Hardeeville, on March 9, 1943 to the late Clint Cooler and Pearl Brabham Cooler.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Shorty Cooler, Raymond, William and Cecil Davis and his sisters, Althera Tant, Alberta Gatch and Catherine Cooler.

Thomas served his community as a Police Officer and former Chief of Police of Ridgeland, Varnville, Walterboro, Hardeeville and Johnston, SC before retiring to his hometown of Hardeeville.  Thomas was a faithful member at Red Dam Baptist Church.  He enjoyed deer hunting and watching the Braves baseball games.

Thomas is survived by his sons, Michael Cooler (Chrissy) and Timmy Cooler (Roseanne) all of Hardeeville; his daughter, Missy Horton (Tony) of Bluffton; his sister, Jackie Altman of Hardeeville and his grandchildren, Nikki Watson, Bubba Cooler, Brandon Horton, Tyler Horton, Lauren Creel, Naomi Legath, Brandon Legath, Alysia Cooler and Raymond Cooler.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Red Dam Baptist Church, Hardeeville until the hour of the service at 3:00 pm.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
