On Tuesday evening, we said goodbye to Vincent Carbone.
There to welcome him home, were his parents, Sylvester Carbone, and Mary (Pagano) Carbone and son-in-law Jay Samuels.
Guardians of his love and legacy include: his loving wife of 68 years, Estelle, Daughters: Mary Samuels, Denise Bier (Tim) and Lisa Ryder (Bobby).
Brother Tom Carbone (Diana).
He was Papa, Pop, and Gramps to: Ashley (Todd), Tara (Brad), Amanda, Adriana, and Sam. And hugged and kissed by the next generation of great grandchildren, Isabella, Juliette, Brynnley, Everly and Paisley.
Uncle, Cousin, and Friend to many who will remember him with love.
Born in New York City, the first of his generation to graduate from college (St. John’s University) while raising his family and starting his career with Sinclair at 30 Rock.
Rising through the ranks of the oil industry, with British Petroleum and then Sohio, Vincent retired early as Vice President and he and Estelle settled on Hilton Head.
There he began a very successful second career in Real Estate. Mostly to fund his newly found passion for golf. He was the man to beat at Dolphin Head Golf Club for quite some time!
Daddy loved everything Italian! Pasta!! Sinatra!! Also, cigars and a good martini!
And like Sinatra, he lived life his way, even at the end.
The family, especially his daughters, would like to thank Dr. Hy Sussman for his compassionate care.
A Service will be held on Monday, May 8th at 2:00 in the Chapel at Sauls Funeral Home 90 Simmonsville Rd. Bluffton, SC.
Please consider donating to the National Kidney Foundation.
“and now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friends, I’ll say it clear
I’ll state my case from which I’m certain
I’ve lived a life that’s full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way…”
