William Henry Mcteer

William Henry McTeer, 94, of Savannah, GA passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Summit Place of Beaufort, Beaufort, SC.

Mr. McTeer was born February 17, 1924 in Early Branch, SC to the late Benjamin Lester McTeer and Myra Mixon McTeer. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in Architecture, building and renovating many homes in the area. He later retired as sales manager of the Southeast Division of US Gypsum. Mr. McTeer served in the US Army Air Corps as a bombardier navigator on B-24 Liberators during World War II. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal for his service while in Italy.

Mr. McTeer is survived by his nieces, Nancy Blocker (Bobby) of Yemassee, SC and Katherine M. Henson (Tim) of Spartanburg, SC; nephews, Thomas R. McTeer of Chesapeake, VA, James C. Boyette, Jr. of Georgia, and Marcus S. McTeer (Heidi) of Columbia, SC; and sister-in-law, Virginia B. McTeer of Woodruff, SC (wife of Rev. Benjamin McTeer). He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. Benjamin McTeer, Dr. Hugh McTeer, and Rev. Joseph McTeer (Tina) and sisters, Mavis M. Fillyaw, Mildred McTeer, Muriel Boyett (Cliff), and Mary Lee Farmer (E.D.).

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, June 4, 2018 at Bull Street Baptist Church, 1400 Bull St, Savannah, GA 31401.
