William "David" Bridges

William David Bridges, 67, of Jonesville, SC passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Colleton Regional Medical Center.

David was born April 1, 1954 in Walterboro, SC to the late Robert Lewis Bridges and Rita O’Neal Mixson Bridges. He served as a Federal Security Police Officer at the Savannah River Nuclear Facility. He was a body building champion and heavy weight champion in the Drug Free Division. David was a devout member of Pine Level Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his family and was especially close to his grandchildren.

David is survived by his wife, Kathy S. Bridges; sons, Matt Bridges (Darla) of Johnsonville and William David Bridges, II (Carleen) of Hampton, SC; daughters, Mary Bridges Stanley (Keith M.) of Nixville, SC and Chelsey Jean Ashlaw (Adam) of Beaufort, SC; brother, Michael L. Bridges (Esther) of Allendale, SC; four grandchildren, Emily “Best Friend” Stanley, Leland Stanley, Zoey Ashlaw, and Brody Ashlaw; and two dogs, Sebastian and Bubba. He was preceded in death by his brother, Andy Bridges.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 22, 2021 at Pine Level Baptist Church, Grays, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until the hour of the service. Burial will follow at Jonesville Cemetery.
